Wolves 3-0 West Ham: Half Time

Trust West Ham United to turn up in a must-win game against the Premier League’s only winless side and concede after just three minutes.

Soungoutou Magassa hardly covered himself in glory as Konstantinos Mavropanos failed to close down Hwang Hee-chan quickly enough before the cross was delivered for Arias to score.

The Hammers started the game brightly enough, with Crysencio Summerville looking lively, but for the rest of the half, Nuno EspĆrito Santo’s side looked utterly clueless. It was incredibly frustrating to watch West Ham toil against a team devoid of confidence, who still somehow looked better than them.

Wolves Punish Every Mistake

Despite West Ham’s possession, Wolverhampton Wanderers always seemed to have more than enough pace to cause problems on the counter-attack. It was from exactly that situation that Max Kilman miskicked a clearance, Magassa committed a foul, and Wolves were handed a penalty to make it 2–0.

Wolves finished what has to be one of the Hammers most dreadful performance as Mane drifted past Magassa, escaped a Dinos challenge and fired home from 18 yards.

All eyes will be on the second half and the possible introduction of new signing Pablo Felipe Pereira de Jesus. That said, it all seems a little too lates and the 3-0 scoreline entirely justified.

At this point, West Ham look dead and buried, with the Premier League’s worst team somehow looking considerably better.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender šŸ˜¬āš’ļø Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

More West Ham moaning is done on a daily basis here šŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

I could see this coming nuno doesn’t learn from his mistakes and played kilman and mavropanos who are liabilities? We always look like conceding goals with those two in defense! I would of played mangassa and Igor as a defensive pair instead

  • Mick bering says:

Travel upto the Midlands for this pile of Bowen our best player but no captain Kilman isnt a professional footballer Scarles isnt ready The club is so badly run its untrue I can go on and on but cant be bothered anymore

  • Geoff risley says:

It’s sad.where not just witnessing the inevitability of relegation.we are looking at the end of eest ham as a club as we knew it.this club would be nothing g without our wonderful support.they deserve better.our history and culture deserves better.the bubbles have now truly burst.how sad.

  • SB says:

Absolutely true , there’s no team spirit total lack of pride
As individuals , for the club who pays them more than what most of the season ticket holders and other fans earn
and all fans worldwide who have been kicked in the teeth
    By this very poor performance

  • Phil Baker says:

Nuno might as well have handed out tutus during the pregame team talk as Westham played like a bunch of 10 year old school girls . Westham would be relegated from the Championship if they played like that .

  • D.f.butcher says:

I never wanted Nuno , I don’t think he has a clue we need to get rid , Nuno out, he has no way given the players enthusiasm to fight for the club, he’s rubbish total rubbish, we need a manager not a mouth piece, he talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk, he’s the worst ever the total pits.

  • merlin1066 says:

Strikers apart our biggest mistake was hiring a manager who is known for defensive football sticking to his guns with arguably the worst defence in the premiership.Hard to see how he can survive this shambles.

  • Rob says:

Manager out thought, players not interested, with the exceptions of Scarles officals had a Wolves shirts on. NO CHANCE.
    RELEGATED!

  • kcockayne says:

As I consistently say, ā€œif you are a team that can’t win etc., there is one solution; play West Hamā€. Surely now the management will realise that we DO NOT HAVE A DEFENCE, & try to do something about it !

  • Sue says:

    1 word
    Gutless

  • Ray says:

Wolves have looked better than West Ham all season, only the points total has flattered to deceive. Where do we go from here. Totally let down by the club owners, management and players. It seems our season is over.

  • Keith says:

Years as a fan have taught me that West Ham players like their share of the Christmas and New Years’ food and drink. Result they play rubbish. I think they should do a blood test and a weight check at the end of the game and anyone with high levels of alcohol or over weight should be heavily fined.

    Big Sam come home soon.

  • Jamie says:

Clowns …they still get there top dollar ….

  • B says:

We’re watching a team of has beens, kids and misfits and it just ain’t good enough.

  • leon says:

We need a new 11, this team is garbage!

  • Kenny Irons says:

Sullivan and his Ghouls will probably sack Nuno later and bring in the next hapless manager – Bilic, O’Neill, Cooper ? just to cement our place as a mid table Championship team.

  • David says:

That’s it now. I’m done. No fight. Can’t see us winning 4-3. Don’t think Nuno survives this. Let’s go to championship, appoint young progressive coach who plays on front foot and begin rebuild with our young players coming through.

  • Mark says:

Sums us up clueless. There is no point buying anyone this window as we will just have to sell them for a loss in the summer once we are relegated.

  • Hammertime says:

We had such a great opportunity over the festive break to climb the table and put some distance between us and relegation and we have totally blown it. Even now, being 3 nil down in a must win game we don’t look like we have any idea how to score or even play football. Total embarrassment and on this form we have no chamce of staying up

  • MJ says:

Sack Nuno at halftime, sell captain fantastic Bowen, have Max Kilman put down and publicly execute David Sullivan and Karen Brady in Canning Town High Street this weekend, finally burn down that poxy athletics stadium… and breath

  • Darkhorse says:

Nuno hasn’t got a clue, bringing on the slow cart horse Soucek. Unbelievable

  • Harry says:

Total embarrassment. Not one fit to wear the shirt.

  • The hammer 202 says:

Some of our players are switched off today
    Bowen
    Magassa
    Potts
    Fernandes
These are the players we count on every game

  • On my head Trev says:

Sack Nuno no idea now. No manager would have more of a clue than this idiot. With Nottingham forest loding it should have been thexpush needed.

  • X says:

One of the worst first half performances I’ve ever seen against one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen.

  • John Ayris says:

We could barely be blowing out more than we are. Three crucial games from which we’re going to take one point. Must comfortably be the worst team in the division.

Two new strikers don’t fix this, it is an embarrassment.

  • Jeff says:

Sick to death of this awful team of ours and Nuno who just stands there like a dummy. Absolutely pathetic and deserving of Championship football.

  • Gaz says:

So, after everyone here was braying for Paqueta to sit, here we are. No creativity and no leadership. Magassa should have been pulled after the first goal. Potts and Scarles look their age. Fernandez forgets himself. And where is our captain?

    • Phil says:

No leadership from Captain or Coach…
      CluelessšŸ˜©ā€¦ā€¦.embarrassing !

    • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Let’s not pretend Paqueta is the answer to this, Gaz. He’s been rubbish all season. The way we approach games comes down to the manager. Simple as that.

    • Rob says:

Bowen should never be captain, not strong enough personally. We played the same last game with Paqueta, played the same and we have no leader at the back. If Nuno can’t get these players working harder than that he might as well go. You just have look at the team when opposition have the ball, all are 4 or 5 yards off the player they should be marking.

      • Phil says:

Total embarrassment, six goals shipped this season to one of the worst teams in premier league history. No leadership on or off the field, I’ve been watching West ham for 50 years but rarely have I felt sadder than I do today.
