I’m fully expecting West Ham to come away from the Emirates with a result tonight and cutting to the chase I see goals and predict a 2-2 scoreline.
Arsenal have a multitude of troubles with Arsene Wenger under siege and a major injury to their front line goalkeepers. Laurent Koscielny is also out of a fragile defence at the best of times and that gives us a real chance.
Ok, nobody needs to tell me we ain’t the best at the back but I believe chances will be coming our way because Koscielny really is a massive massive miss for Arsenal and we could find ourselves in a position to take big advantage.
However, for me that will mean starting Michail Antonio through the middle rather than Andy Carroll.
Michail has the pace and movement to really stress out a nervous defence which may even include the third choice keeper.
No disrespect to Carroll but his game is a bit static and I’m sure Wenger will have planned for him so to hand the role to Antonio will cause problems to the Arsenal plans.
We will have happy memories from the corresponding match last season and I won’t be surprised if lightning doesn’t strike twice although I reckon a draw is the likely outcome.
We will all be having one eye on the results at Hull and Swansea but as the old cliche goes we can only concentrate on what’s in front of us.
Saturday’s match against Swansea is massive for us and we don’t need anymore injuries from tonight but all things being equal we should go into our own match against the Welsh team confident whatever happens at Arsenal as they are in a very poor spell indeed.
An Irons point or three tonight will give everyone a huge boost and I’ll be bitterly disappointed if that doesn’t happen.
