Alvaro Arbeloa’s contract expires on 30th June after his single season during which time he made three Premier League appearances and also started the EFL Cup victory over Accrington Stanley.
Young professionals Sam Howes, Sam Ford, Kyle Knoyle and Sam Westley will also depart after not being offered new contracts.
The Club has thanked all those named above who will be leaving for their efforts and wished them well in their future careers.
I suppose the controversial one was Sam Westley, him having a Squad Number and apparently only turning out a couple of times for any team, let alone never looking likely to ever make the First Team did look like nepotism.
I wonder who gave him the bad news?
I think he has spent the last nine months in his kitchen perfecting his seafood paella. He hasnt been playing football has he lol
What has Arbeloa actually been doing? I thought he would be a good addition but shows the dangers of older signings I suppose. On the other hand you might just pick up a Teddy Sheringham for a couple of seasons…
Was always going to be a close run thing as to whether Wesley would be released or retire with a gold watch first, I guess.
