All may not be well at West Ham, with contradictory reports emerging regarding the injury and fitness of Niclas Füllkrug.

Earlier today, Claret & Hugh spoke to a high-placed source at the club who suggested there was a small chance of the German international being fit enough to make the bench for Saturday’s Premier League game against Tottenham.

The emphasis conveyed to us was very much that the issue with the former Dortmund striker was very much one of fitness rather than injury.

However, Hammers ITK ExWHUEmployee has stated on his Patreon account that Füllkrug is in fact in Germany and that his injury is worse than the club has led us to believe.

Ex said: “There are concerns emerging from the club this morning that German forward Niclas Füllkrug could be out for even longer than first expected. There are fears this absence could go on for a number of weeks yet.”

There have been suggestions that the club has been downplaying the injury publicly and trying to manage bad news.

It was clear from our exchange with West Ham this morning that the £27m striker was highly unlikely to feature against Tottenham, but far more likely to be on the bench to face Manchester United.

If indeed we are looking at a lay-off of ‘weeks’, it would be a massive blow for both the club and the player.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

I’m glad your seeing things clearer now Gonzo. it’s one thing you being duped by a ‘ high level source ‘ but it is something else if you inadvertently do the same to your readers, can I add to my previous comment, that it seems very much like a more serious injury which will therefore drag on for a much longer period, and l am sure that LOPETEGUI is making more permanent restructuring arrangements, remember 10 weeks is a major part of a season when we need results!

Why is he in Germany, haven’t we got any medical people here.

  • Ray says:

“A massive blow for the club”, why, has he played a significant part in the season so far? Is he the top scorer, most assists? No, then why. “Trying to manage bad news”, to protect who? He already knows, the club knows, I am sure Germany knows, who else matters? “Concerns emerging from the club this morning”, really? You mean they haven’t known for weeks, why not, we have? Tell me, are Daran Little and Hugh Miller your “high placed source”?
Mr. Steidten, I think it is time you took over as Technical Director, unless you are part of the plot to make this club the laughing stock of the PL.

And after all some bloke on YouTube said he was the perfect signing for us…

  • Kip says:

Here we go again..a bloke of his age will take time after an injury..just like our whole forward line ….not getting Duran and paying 27 mil for a 31xyewr old German was just so bad its embarrassing …now we are bsck to antonio and ings …🤣🤣ffs

  • Nelly says:

Our record with strikers is shocking. Why did we buy a player with a history of injury problems, when we could’ve pushed the boat out for Dhuran

    • rollercoaster hammer says:

the answer to that is that they were never going to sell him to us. at least that is what we were told here some weeks ago

  • John Ayris says:

With the number of players we brought in there was always going to be someone who for whatever reason took longer rather than shorter to integrate – Looks like it’s Fullkrug.
