Guido Rodriguez has verbally agreed a three-year contract with West Ham, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Hammers have been linked with the Argentine midfielder for several weeks, and the two clubs are now close to agreeing on a fee. Rodriguez is keen on a move to West Ham, and the deal is expected to be completed in the next few days, subject to a medical.

The signing of Rodriguez will be a major boost for West Ham, who have been looking to strengthen their midfield this summer. The 29-year-old is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions, and his experience in La Liga will be invaluable to the Hammers.

Rodriguez’s arrival will provide competition in the West Ham midfield. The increased competition for places will help to improve the overall quality of the squad.

The signing of Rodriguez is a clear indication of West Ham’s ambition to challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season. The club have already made a number of signings this summer, including Max Kilman and Luis Guilherme, and the addition of Rodriguez will further strengthen their squad.

  • Phil McDonald says:

    He’s been 30 since April.

  • Lokfaen says:

Simon, this potential signing has been hailed as “under the radar” as early as today – and he is a free agent so I don’t understand how “the two clubs are now close to agreeing a fee?”

  • Winchester Hammer says:

There aren’t two clubs. He’s a free agent. And yes, Phil’s right. He’s 30. We shouldn’t have to correct your ongoing inaccuracies, Simon. Time to step down mate.

  • Burch says:

There is a lot wrong with this article

  • Bernard Palmer says:

I presume as most free agents that they all want a signing on fee from the club they go to

  • Sensible3 says:

This site is better than a comedy club, how one man can destroy a web sites reputation with his constant error ridden articles.

  • DB0895 says:

I miss Hugh. This has been absolute rubbish for months now. Sort it out or hand it over.

  • Ironsman says:

God who writes these articles such poor ball knowledge. Everyone knows he’s a free agent

  • Manager Jeff says:

Have we ACTUALLY signed him? I must have missed the “medical booked” posts. Same for Fulkrug? Even BBC say we have signed Fulkrug. But nothing official.

    • Martin Treasure says:

Medicals for both Fullkrug and Rodriguez being completed today apparently. Would expect both to sign Monday.

  • John Sharp says:

With Alvarez recovering from a hamstring injury, I can see Rodriguez starting against Celta Vigo and against Villa too. After the two friendly games the defence clearly needs the protection that a player of his pedigree can provide.

  • Oliver Schneider says:

Wow, the blatant mistakes on this site are spectacular. “The Hammers have been linked with the Argentine midfielder for several weeks” – More like several days.

Plus, he’s not 29 and there isn’t another club to agree a fee with, he’s a free agent.

  • Pongo says:

It’s not just poor, there is no research done to get the facts correct, in fact I would go as far to say that’ it is absolutely pathetic reporting. I’d liken it to guessing who might win a medal at the olympics. An absolutely unreliable source of information and definitely a case of copy and paste whatever they’ve read elsewhere. Maybe his really a spurs fan..or just clueless.

  • Lee says:

Looking at some of these comments .. are we all talking about the same blokes … are they in or not … medical ….. not seen anything on the hammers website …… who is spreading this stuff

  • Sid says:

A free agent .. close to agreeing a fee .. come on do your homework
