Tony Cottee has welcomed Aaron Cresswell to West Ham United and in an exclusive column with ClaretandHugh declared: “This lad is a classy who will get better with us.”
The former Iron has seen a lot of Cresswell via his job as a Sky Sports pundit and commentator and is thrilled that he has committed to the Boleyn summer revolution.
He said: “Aaron has everything in his game. He’s particularly comfortable on the ball and looks a really good player going forward.
“I’ve seen him a lot and his distribution is particulaly good and I can see him setting up a real supply line for Andy Carroll. “
At a guaranteed £3.75 million with an appearance related clause that could take the deal to £7 million, TC reckons ut’s a good deal for both clubs.
He said: “I think that’s about par for the course for a Championship player but it I think it will turn out to be a better deal for us because there’s a lot more to come in my opinion.”
TC has been pleased to see the amount of activity going on at the club saying: “I don’t know much about the foreign boys but they both come with decent reputations.
“However, I do know that Aaron is a very good player and will become a much better player with us because he will be playing with better players.”
I was a bit disappointed to be honest when we didn’t get some of the eye catching names we were being linked with!
But now we have got cresswell I am much encouraged and fully believe we have signed the best left back of the lot we have been linked with!

Yes, Diego Poyet would be another very good aquisition. Works hard & would play well with Noble. He earned a lot of respect at Charlton & has pedigree. When you look at the purchases so far, they are astute & show intent. I believe that that the owners have listened to us & determined to change the quality of our game. That must be respected.
