CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon
Tony Cottee – in his first interview since backing the Pai Capital bid for West Ham – has admitted ” no regrets” that he fronted up the group’s bid to get control of the club.
He wants to think it helped GSB make the decision top become involved with Daniel Kretinsky who has become the club’s new £150 million investor.
For other forms of entertainment you can see kasyna online (casinos online) whilst enjoying the rest of this interview.
Speaking exclusively to ClaretandHugh the former Hammers hero said: “All I’ve ever wanted is for the club to be successful and if PAI capital helped by creating some pressure for that happen in the way things have gone I’m pleased.
“I have no regrets. I’m disappointed PAI didn’t get the club because there are some good people in there but the Hammers are now heading firmly in the right direction and that really the only thing that matters to me.”
Like us all he understands that new players are required but doesn’t want the club spending millions now on players who will be worth less than half of that in the Summer and claims that Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz could have been one of those.
He said: “Yes, we need a centre forward but the summer will be the time to get someone of quality. Trust me, David Moyes will not buy for buying’s sake. That’s not his way at all.
Jarrod Bowen cost £17 million and how much is that lad worth now – brilliant player and that’s the sort of player David will be looking for now and in the summer window.
But he believes the biggest job on the manager’s hands is winning the Europa League which will tick every box us fans want ticked.
He said: “That for me is the number One priority because if we win it the fans we will enter the Champions League and if we are in that then we will keep Declan. That’s the one thing that will see him stay at the London Stadium in my opinion.”

After my first post was probably quite-rightly moderated, I still feel that Cottee has shown that he doesn’t have the best interests of the club at heart, and his opinion is not welcome.
Thanks for your understanding aol. We try to avoid that stuff. I like TC but his ambitionm jas seen him shoothimself in the foot several times on this one. Silly boy
It is this type of naivety and lack of understanding that could have led to this club ending up in the wrong hands.
As a well-known supporter and club legend, it is not the first time that he has been a little gung ho in throwing his support and legendary status behind a bid. What we as supporters need to understand is that Tony has no business experience in this field, so his opinion is just that…..an opinion albeit of a West Ham Legend. Trevor Brooking is an even Bigger West Ham legend, but you don’t hear him making off the cuff statements or fronting shady bids for the club.
Tony may not have any regrets, but his actions in my opinion were shortsighted and it wasn’t properly thought through. This could ultimately have led to this club going backwards and in the wrong hands.
Tony has most certainly blotted his copybook with me and to attempt to take credit for the clubs new investor is a little cheap.
