Coufal ready after Stockport learning experience

|

Should Vladimir Coufal have ever believed there was an easy match in English football he received a wake-up call as the Hammers battled to overcome non-league Stockport County.

The right-back was outstanding in the game as he has been in most this season but like the rest of the squad, he will take nothing for granted should he be selected to play this afternoon.

It’s probably unlikely given a match on Tuesday night at Palace but should he get the call he will be ready as ever.

His comments at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2021/january/23-january/vladimir-coufal-i-expect-us-show-our-quality-against suggest, however, that he will be ready to play his part at the London Stadium today should David Moyes give him the nod.

And as is always the case with this character expect 100 per cent regardless of the game at Selhurst Park which could see the Hammers consolidating their place at the top end of the Premier League should he be involved.

He said: “Now I know that every game in England is very tough and it doesn’t matter which team you are playing against.

“I saw it in Stockport, which was a very tough game, and they were from the fifth league.

“I’m expecting another tough game, but I expect us to show our quality and certainly we want to get through to the next round.”

Today’s tie will be broadcast live on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website, with kick-off at 3pm.
