Vladimir Coufal’s position at West Ham United is uncertain as the club explores options to strengthen their right-back position.

But he is not set for an “imminent” West Ham United exit ahead of the transfer deadline, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist reported via his Daily Briefing column this morning that the Czech international is not expected to leave the London Stadium quickly at this moment in time.

The Czech full-back has been a reliable servant for the Hammers since joining from Slavia Prague in 2020, but the club are now looking to upgrade at the position.

Interest from Besiktas adds another layer of complexity to the situation, with the Turkish club keen on securing Coufal’s services. However, West Ham are in no rush to sell the 31-year-old and will only consider offers that meet their valuation.

The Hammers’ decision to pursue Trippier highlights their ambition to strengthen the squad and compete for a place in the top six.

Trippier would be a sticking plaster rather than strengthening IMHO. Unless it’s to wait for AWB on a free next summer I don’t get it.

  • Taffyhammer says:

Vlad Coufal is world class. Be prepared to see that class ooze out of the guy as we progress through the season with our fluid football and alert pressing style.

Trippier highlights their ambition, sorry mate, you’re on the wrong bus, he’s shot, AWB appears to be a financial problem. The young lad Martínez at Girona is something special, he would be my first choice, only saying. The management team should be congratulated on their work so far. Never experienced this kind of dynamic approach to a window, 73 next week, so I’ve had some nice times being a hammer, but blimey I don’t think I’ve ever had such great expectations moving forward 😎

  • Charlie Farley says:

West Ham will sign Wan-Bissaka before the Villa game. Some deals require patience as did the Todibo signing which is being completed today.

  • Steve says:

Saw ex mention the AWB deal is close now

    • Jay says:

It’s important that Coufal stays if we sign AWB. He will provide cover and competition. If we let Coufal go and bring in AWB we’ll be in the same precarious position with only one senior right back. Coufal has plenty more to offer the club.

with AWB progressing i can’t see Coufal content with being on the bench

Coufal is one of the easiest potential sales we have on the books due to his low wages, being in his final year now is the time to cash in

Martinez from girona could be coming in, would be a good understudy for AWB but also offers different qualities, would be smart to lock in some future potential for the u21

a final masterstroke by tim, make it happen
