All over the media this morning were reports linking West Ham United’s Nayef Aguerd with a move to Juventus and Juve’s defender Daniele Rugani swapping clubs and joining the Hammers. West Ham would have certainly got the soggy end of that deal, with Rugani being older than Aguerd, less mobile than Aguerd and a more likely been-sitter.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio suggested the two clubs might become involved in a player swop: Whether just based on ‘one plus one equals three’ or whether through any real information isn’t clear: He does suggest an element of truth to his article by stating :

“The interest is concrete and could open up to an exchange scenario: the Hammers, in fact, like Daniele Rugani, an expert and reliable profile that could be part of their plans. The parties are evaluating the feasibility of the operation”

West Ham need cash. Not fourth rate thirty year olds. I’m struggling to think of any one single reason this deal would appeal to Graham Potter. The Irons have already said ‘enough’ to thirty something journeymen having suffered Lopetegui’s slow, stodgy European picks last season. The blindingly obvious solution seems that it would be better to be to bring Aguerd back and use him next season. He’s under contract and getting well paid.

He had an issue with Moyes and Lopetegui: Third time lucky with Graham Potter?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

He’s already said he’s not coming back indicating that the problem was more than the two managers
