Cressie gets ready to up his game

cressie-englandWest Ham’s strength in the left back position has been demonstrated again following Aaron Cresswell’s England call-up.

Cressie may not have enjoyed the greatest season of his career but improved considerably towards its climax to ensure that England boss Gareth Southgate gave him a shout.

He may well have had our back-up left back Arthur Masuaku to thank who piled on the pressure with some performances  which had many believing he deserved to hold on to the role.

Injury intervened and as a result Cressie took full advantage to show he was coming back to his best after an interrupted season.

And on claiming a place in the England squad for a FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Scotland and a friendly in Paris against France at the start of next month, he said: “I’m delighted to have got the call, especially for such big games.

“Making my England debut against Spain earlier in the season was such a proud moment for me and my family and I’d love to earn more caps for my country.

“It’s up to me to take my chance and I want to head to the training camp  show what I can do and end the season on a high.

“I can’t wait to get started and hopefully I can help England get a couple of great results.”
