Cresswell and Fabianski miss pre-season friendly

Aaron Cresswell and Lukasz Fabianski were two notable exceptions in West Ham’s first pre-season friendly played in Austria.

Fabianski was rested with the club explaining he had only resumed training in Switzerland on Monday, the same was true of Declan Rice who was named in the team.

Cresswell suffered a small knock and was excluded from the team as a precaution, he is expected to fully recover to make the trip to China this weekend,

The squad flew back to the UK today to spend a brief time with their families before they fly off to China this weekend.

Earlier this week Pellegrini named a 23-man squad for the Premier League Asia Trophy in China.

West Ham United Premier League Asia Trophy squad: Antonio, Cresswell, Cullen, Diangana, Diop, Felipe Anderson, Fredericks, Chicharito, Fabianski, Johnson, Lanzini, Martin, Noble, Obiang, Ogbonna, Reid, Rice, Roberto, Sanchez, Snodgrass, Wilshere, Yarmolenko, Zabaleta

The first game is next Wednesday 17th July at 1.30pm UK time against Manchester City.
