West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell is reported as being in talks with Wolves.
And it would seem that if true the reason he signed a new deal was in order for teh Hammers to get a transfer fee which it is being suggested by the Mail as being in the region of £2.5 million.
The 33-year old has now been with the Hammers for nine years since signing under Sam Allardyce back in 2014 from Ipswich Town for £3.75million in 2014.
However, not many would disagree that his form started to slip last season – along with the rest of course – with Emerson appearing more and more in the left back role.
It seems the Hammers will be looking to bring in a younger left back although Ben Johnson can play on that side should the club decide to keep him at the club.
Should a move to Molineux happen it will see Cresswell link up with former hammers team mate Craig Dawson who moved on to the midlands for family reasons.
Seriously , just what is going on at West Ham , lots of outgoings & no sign of any incomings, linked with every man & his dog as usual but no official bids made ……….
These really are worrying times !!!!!!!!!
Will be sorry to see Cresswell leave. He has been a key player for some time.
A lot of West Ham’s forward movement from the back comes through him, and his set piece delivery is well… Probably BFS’s best signing!
Great servant wish him well if he does leave. I think it is becoming clear that there is a worrying disconnect emerging in terms of overall transfer strategy between the board, DOF and Moyes. Moyes wants players like Gallagher solid player but no where near as good as Fofana. Value for money all day every day makes Fofana the choice. Seemingly Noble has endorsed his signing but thats still not enough for Moyes. I believe the route cause of what’s going on is Moyes and his complete unwillingness to change or accept advice. If he is not prepared to align with club strategy then he needs to be sacked.
