Crime and punishment after Irons v City

Some supporters got carried away at last night’s Carabao Cup game at the London Stadium with six arrests in total police have confirmed.

Five West Ham supporters and one Manchester City fan were arrested last night Met Police officer Andy Sheldon revealed on social media.

The home supporters were arrested for 2 x Public Order offences 1 x assault 1× missile throwing 1 x GBH and 1 x away fan for assaulting a steward

Five additional West ham fans reported for pitch invasion after the penalty shoot out and now face indefinate stadium bans and a three-year court football banning order if found guilty of the offence.

There were also reports of a number of  Manchester City in home sections of the ground.

TV footage showed home fans running onto the pitch after Said Benrahama scored the final penalty to win the league cup tie, the fans were quickly apprehended by London stadium security staff.

  1. There were some fans fighting over seats in the billy bonds stand. All claiming they had the same seat. Other people got involved and before you knew it fists were flying. Two season ticket holders who had bought tickets for their regular seats got up and left over it. One young scared looking steward who looked like he wasn’t long out of school turned up to deal with the incident. Ten minutes later four or five other stewards turned up but by then it was all over thanks to some peacemakers in the crowd intervening. I wondered whether some tickets touts had sold some tourists some dodgy tickets or whether that’s even possible?
