West Ham United’s Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal played as the Czech Republic won 2-0 at home against Albania in UEFA Nations League B Group 1 last night.
To top off a good night for the Hammers duo, Coufal registered an assist as the Czechs secured back-to-back Nations League victories and moved joint top of their group alongside Georgia.
Souček captained his side to victory, but perhaps more importantly, both players finished the game without injury, which will be a huge relief to the Hammers. Both played the full 90 minutes.
The game provided valuable minutes for Coufal, who has lost his starting place in the West Ham lineup to £15 million summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The pair will play again on Monday night when the Czech team flies to Ukraine before returning to Prague and, hopefully, back to England by midweek, in time for West Ham’s Premier League match against Tottenham on October 19th.
I think you’ll find they’re playing Ukraine in Poland. Sincerely hope so 🙏.
