Spurs right back Kieran Trippier has been linked as a West Ham target in recent weeks as the Hammers prepare a list of right backs with Premier League experience to replace Álvaro Arbeloa who is set to leave the club this January.
However the Daily Mail say that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will block any attempt of Trippier leaving White Hart Lane in this window despite interest from West Ham.
The 26-year-old has had to take a backseat for most of the season with Kyle Walker holding down the right-back berth but his ability as backup right back was evident in the recent 4-1 win over Watford when he set up two goals for Harry Kane inside the first 33 minutes.
Trippier has admitted that keeping the likes of in-form Walker and Danny Rose out of Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans will be a tough task.
As I said before buy Berahino for £5m and swap him for Trippier.
Had the chance to sign him for 3.5 million but we got Jenkinson on loan for 2 million instead! Levy would probably make us pay 20 million to sign him…
E
Exactly that. And once again it was only the fans that saw the potential at the time. Now any RB we go for is gonna be lumpy cos everyone knows how desperate we are.
Well Levy is a **** after all so no new story there 🙂
Levy wouldn’t sell us sh..Obviously Trippier prefers to be a Spuds reserve-beats working for a living.
I want a permanent block put on ANY West Ham player going to Spurs for any reason.
