Danny Ings could still be an option for Moyes

David Moyes would need to come close to Southampton’s £30m asking price if he wants to sign Danny Ings, the 29-year-old striker is also said want a five-year contract and personal terms of at least £125,000 per week to sign for a new club. He is currently reported to earn £75,000 per week on his current deal on the south coast.

The Southampton striker is into the final year of his current deal at St Mary’s, and was presented with a package that would have made him the highest-paid player in the Saint’s history but he opted to knock it back.  Ings rejected Southampton’s offer as he wants to move to a top six club the Athletic claimed.

He has been linked to the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United but none of them has made a formal move for him as yet.

He has also been heavily linked to Spurs who finished outside the top six but Levy is said to be concerned over his wage demands within their strict wage structure

Ings scored 12 goals in 29 Premier League games last season. In total, Ings has netted 46 goals in 100 appearances for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

If a Manchester club doesn’t come for Ings maybe Moyes could make a late bid for the proven forward with Southampton perhaps prepared to lower their price to £25mor less to avoid their striker leaving for free next summer.

  1. Stop with this propaganda Sean!
Moyes doesn’t need to match the price tag, Sullivan does.
Of course you wouldn’t mention that in your article otherwise you might loose all your rewards for doing this propaganda work.
The lengths you will go to in order to protect the board are frighting and I’m genuinely concerned.

  2. Danny Ings will not be a West Ham player, this season or any other.

Although i believe fans need to be patient, i don’t think these sorts of articles, about players that we are clearly not going to sign, helps quell the disgruntled element of our fan base. I know you need the hits, i get that totally, but how about some more opinion pieces from you guys and/or the fans that follow this website, rather than constant speculation regarding players we’re highly unlikely to sign?

    • I 100% agree with you Saul. I’ve been reading CandH for a while, and I can see the standards are clearly dropping. The majority of stories on here now are copied from other sites word for word, with a sentence or two thrown on the end by one of the writers. Where is the breaking news? Where are the exclusives? So far this window I’ve seen CandH get nothing correct, which is worrying given it’s my preferred news site.

    • I 100% Agree…
C&H are slowly but surely turning readers of this site away. Reading many of your posts is becoming tiresome, with repeated or rehashed news.
Your short-term gain may prove to be a false dawn.

  3. Spot on Saul .

  4. Can’t see it personally, think Ings will run his contract down to get a last big payday, he would be great in our team and the style we play a genuine striker, he also has an injury history so that has to put him in the brakes of players we usually sign haha

  5. It is simply Shameless Click Baiting…..
There may actually be something to report this evening, although it won’t be transfer based.

  6. Another deluded player wanting a last big pay day, he wants a top six club, £125.000 a week & a five year deal which works out about £32m & will take him upto 34 yrs old. Also entered the last year of his contract with the saints who want £30m with absolutely no resale value.
He can want ever he likes, doesn’t mean he’s going to get it.

Doesn’t really match our supposed new transfer policy of signing young hungry players does he… the kind of signing we need to stay away from.
Our new policy actually looks like, sign a few goalkeepers & cross our fingers that nobody gets injured.

You have described this site as a place for exclusive news & have a direct line to the board or very near to them, but cut & paste seems to be the order of the day lately.

  7. Late transfer window signing! You really need to proof read what you are writing. We have had 8 months to identify, plan the recruitment of and get an additional quality striker on board and you write that Ings could be a late transfer window option. We should already have a striker on board. This is ineptitude and negligence of the highest order and just another reason for wanting that clown Sullivan gone. Other than that agree wholeheartedly with other posters on here re recent articles etc.

    • Totally agree ,,and you get numptys saying fans need to be patient……as if we havnt waited 7/8:months just to get a striker…,, a week til it all starts and another week goes by with absolutely no positive news ,,just more guff who we won’t be getting…

  8. The problem Sean, Dave and Hugh has at the minute is leaks and the lack thereof from our club.
Personally I dont mind the claims even though we all know they are spurious but I wholeheartedly agree that an opinion piece or two each week would be nice to see and debate.

    • totally understand that point about lack of leaks. It’s not a dig at those who run this site at all but to help stop the negativity, a few more pieces like that of Mr. Cummings’ recent one on Cresswell wouldn’t go amiss. It takes the emphasis off of the board and lack of signings, which just creates more bile.

      • I agree with you on this one Saul.
If all one has to report is dispatches from The Albanian Sun then guess what’s getting reported.
Even though I dont support the owners because of their move, I try not to get involved with the negative stuff especially when we’ve not even kicked a ball in anger, its almost laughable.
I suppose if we bought Kane there would be people complaining about not buying Mbappe . . .

  9. We wanted club leaks to stop and comments by joint chairmen, they have so now we will have to put up with mindless speculation!!
