David Moyes is being named as a dark horse contender for the Everton job should Frank Lampard be sacked.
The Toffees are currently third from bottom in the Premier League with Lampard a favourite for the chop.
Loved by chairman Bill Kenwright, who brought him to Merseyside more than 20 years ago, Moyes would cost around £5million in compensation.
However, he is probably third favourite though behind Sean Dyche and former Everton idol Wayne Rooney according to media outlets
The Scot still thinks fondly of his time at Goodison where he first coined the ‘People’s Club’ phrase.
But a series of candidates who would be willing to throw their hat in the ring if the club’s board decide to pull the trigger on struggling Lampard.
Free-agent Dyche has been waiting for a top-flight return and has snubbed many Championship offers which have included links to West Ham..
Goodison insiders claim Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is another candidate but that would be tricky as the club are currently runaway leaders of the Scottish Premiership.
I wish were linked to Ange, he would be great for us.He would get a tune out of even our current players and play on the front foot. He had a sound philosophy, I wish our board look at his history (similar to Wenger) and go for it
Please, Please, Please let this be true…..👃👃👃👃👃
I don’t believe a word of it. Next we’ll hear that Lampard is on his way to West Ham!!
