Dave Sullivan Junior, eldest son of the West Ham chairman (pictured centre) has highlighted the unfairness of playing two back to back away games within such a short period of time at opposite ends of the country.
Posting on twitter the young Sullivan said “All away teams (as far as I know) today had double away fixtures. If you look today, every away team were haemorrhaging goals. Huge advantage for the teams who had double home fixtures. West Ham had to travel to different ends of the country, not an excuse but a serious amount of travelling. I think back to back away games isn’t bad if it’s Saturday to Saturday but a 3/4 day window isn’t enough”
West Ham had an away trip to South coast on Tuesday, a round trip of 290 miles on the motorway from the Boleyn Ground to Dean Court in Bournemouth. Five days later the team travelled to St James Park a round trip of 560 miles to Newcastle. Eight hundred and fifty miles in five days!
Just wish the owners or family would not post in Haste and think first what they are saying and once said it is still in the public domain even if deleted, some quotes may come back to bite!
You learnt to much from Hippo young man stop moaning and enjoy a great season for our club,
If you are going to make comments and you have the right to do so make it positive sensible and accurate then the other fans will listen and not moan about you,
We did not turn up at the races by only playing one up top we allowed them to push forward and put are full backs under pressure, our midfielders did not press the ball enough and we did not deserve a point but the Ref stole a point off us it was a Pen and everyone there knew it
“…if they took a coach via motorways instead of flying.”
Which they didn’t. Rubbish excuse. We were poor, they were very good. Reporting this just makes us look like sore losers.
Cringe.
Players get paid vast amounts for things like this. Embarrassing for him to be complaining about.
