Daves: ‘No compensation if we drop clause’

|

David-Sullivan-and-David-Gold_2441171Slaven Bilic or Marcelo Bielsa will be forced to sign a clause that sees whoever is appointed Hammers boss walk away with  nothing if the club are relegated from the Premier League.

According to The Telegraph  this evening it is believed that the Irons are offering a deal that involves no compensation should the team drop out of the Premier League.

And although the newspaper claims that a near £3 million a year contract is on offer, ClaretandHugh has been told that it is far less than that and well behind Sam Allardyce’s £2.9 million package annually.

David Sullivan and David Gold are clearly seeing their  next appointment as risky and are putting as many safety nets in place as possible but ClaretandHugh was told close to midnight on Monday: “It will be settled in the morning hopefully.”

Neither of the last two standing have managed in the Premier League, and relegation next season would be a disaster for West Ham, ahead of their move into the Olympic Stadium for the 2016/17 campaign.

Bilic would be a popular appointment with the fans but the two Davids are worried about his club management career whilst Bielsa is viewed as a maverick with no command of the English language.

After a largely successful six-year spell as the national team manager of Croatia, Bilic took charge of Lokomotiv Moscow but was sacked after just one season following a ninth-place finish. However, there were financial problems within the club which inhibited his progress.

He  then spent two seasons in charge of Besiktas, but left the Turkish club this summer after finishing third and missing out on qualification to the Champions League.

The Telegraph says that should Bilic be offered the West Ham job, then he is likely to want to bring Nikola Jurcevic with him. The pair have worked together with Croatia, Lokomotiv and Besiktas.

West Ham are hoping to complete the signing of midfielder Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria and are chasing a deal for winger Andre Ayew, who is out of contract at Marseille this summer. Liverpool’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren could be a target of Bilic.

No one should be rewarded for failure..!!!
there are 3 big teams in Turkey & only 2 CL places. Do the math.. do you sack the 3rd place manager every year??

      • mattefumi el loco says:

Haha great choice Matte but be careful Kev is iron like the lion in Zion he’s going to get up stand up,stand up for his rights,he’s the last buffalo soldier,he has no woman don’t cry but don’t worry the sun is shining and he’ll be jammin for the genius forever.

        Ahah… fantastic read Quick… Anyway, I love this song… Good night 😉

I agree and I have no problem with this clause but in my opinion Bilic has been treated with no respect throughout this process. It has been made clear he is the 5/6th choice. I hear all this cr** about his lack of club experience and his dubious spell in Russia. He had a very good win percentage with Besitkas despite not having a proper home ground and they were getting better and better. Furthermore the fans loved him. Bielsa’s win percentage in 2 years with Athletico Bilbao was similar to that of BFS’s record over 4 with us so no big shakes there. Just give Bilic the bloody job and show him some respect at last.

I have just been channel flicking & had the misfortune of finding Danny Dyer on Sky2, what a ####…!!!!! Hahahaha

  • canchaz says:

Ah, I see Hugh you,ve adopted a variation of my ” last man standing ” phrase

  • rads says:

Bloody hell Can it is hardly like the last two standing are Conference North or South managers. You always make things sound like our only options are Wallace or Gromit 😀

  • wazza says:

I disagree about Bilic being shown no respect. The Daves are completely correct in making sure they interviewed the decent candidates for the job all the rest is pure paper speculation. I can believe that Rafa was first choice which would’ve been a major coup, but the rest blaaaa… Klopp finished worse than BFS. Maybe Emerey didn’t feel right for the board so once he knew he weren’t getting the job he signed again for Seviile.
Personally I want Biesla and have always said that because he is the one who has had his teams playing good football, but nevertheless I would be ok with and support him 100%. Most statistics are a load of crap and we all know who loved his stats.!
So let’s get this over with an appoint a manager today so we can get some new players and kick the season off with a bang…! COYI

  • bubs says:

If I was either of the managers I would not sign this contract, the way the players played at the end of the BFS or not you are starting on a low,
If they were buying a company they would not get a clause that if it was not successful they would get there money back,
They have had enough time to find their man and its up to them to get it right,I bet if they had given BFS a new contract they would not have put this clause in,
Don’t think it would stand up in a court of law anyway
Have some faith 2 Daves give one of the B,s the job

  • GW says:

So it’s down to Bielsa or Bilic?? Either one would be a massive leap forward from the gurning lump from Dudley. It will nice to see either prowling the touch line understanding what’s working and what’s not changing the style to suit instead of a slob simply blowing kisses at KN slumped in his dugout without a clue.

  • mattefumi el loco says:

Anyway this clause is quite ridiculous, I’ve never seen anything like that before… Bielsa and Bilic, not Allardyce or Grant… By that reasoning BFS should have signed this clause in blood… lol

  • rads says:

Ffs,its only what a newspaper is saying.Nothing to take too seriously.Anyway we wont get relegated so it is immaterial 😉

  • Stingray Stewart says:

Everything is falling into place.Manager looks like being named in the next day or too.But more importantly WetPants are now recruiting backroom staff & sorting out player signings.I feel we are in safehands 😀

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahah.. they can only deal with one thing at the time Stew… don’t worry, then will take care of the players: they will propose no less than 2000 names and related statistics… lol 😉

  • Quickdraw an end to this saga says:

Word is Baroness Brady is about to sing and our new manager is B…

  • mattefumi el loco says:

ahaha… wetpants is like Twelve pounds of dynamite set to blow… denied announcements, false starts, early parties, premature suicides… that site is a pressure cooker right now… hurry up Davies! lol

    • Quickdraw an end to this saga says:

I’ve just broken my rule and had a quick look they’re going to need a toxic waste clean up team and a plane load of psychiatrists if the announcement isn’t soon lol

  • boys of '66 says:

I think when the announement is made we will hear a Tsunami Alert go off.Wetpants mass pee & a mega wave heading towards us 😀

  • stuck on 99 forever says:

Fuxk me they really are the biggest bunch of kids i have ever known.Getting excited because it is going to be announced.Moaning because it is a couple of mins over the one hour stated. Now it is a PR disaster because it is a few mins over time.Wow,get a fuxking life losers!!!!!

  • Quickdraw an end to this saga says:
