Former West Ham joint-chairman David Gold did leave a will dated 18 August 2021 in which he left an estate worth £137,421,336 gross or £127,529,095 net.
Although he passed away on January 4, 2023, his probate was only issued last week, on March 24, 2025, some 117 weeks later.
It had been widely reported at the time that he didn’t have a will, a report denied by club sources at the time but his 2021 will has now been made public.
In the will Gold gifted £100,000 to his sister, £50,000 to his friend, £50,000 to one of his employees, and £25,000 each to two other employees.
The proceeds of his estate have been left in a 125-year discretionary trust for his trustees to decide how to manage and dispose of as they see fit.
As its name suggests a discretionary trust gives a wide discretion to the trustees of the trust as to how to deal with its assets for the benefit of the trust beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries of his trust funds included his surviving daughter Vanessa, his sons-in-law Dan and Nick, his granddaughter Scarlett, and his partner at the time of death Lesley.
