David Gold’s plea to West Ham fans

Gold2West Ham joint Chairman David Gold has taken to social media to ask West Ham fans to get behind their new manager.

Gold wrote on twitter “Hello all West Ham fans, the board have made their decision to appoint David Moyes as the new manager can I ask you to get behind him and the team to help push us up the table to safety. Together I believe we can achieve our dreams. dg”

Moyes was asked yesterday whether he had read West Ham fans reaction to his appointment on social media to which the Scotsman replied

“I don’t read it, but you’re telling me now. I’ll do everything I can to get West Ham as far up the table, give them the best team and the player need to take responsibility. It can’t always be managers that are bad, the players need to show they are good enough for the club, big enough for this stadium, so show that.”

  1. I think our dreams and his dreams might be a bit different. In fairness he’s genuinely a West Ham fan.

  2. Please don’t get me wrong I am gutted about slav and of course being a season ticket holder for many many years I will always get behind the team and the new manager but I cannot and will not get behind the parasites that have stripped our club of everything please just go now. You have made your money out of Us so leave and take that witch with you

  3. We will always get behind our team because it is our team , just do us a favour in future, if a manager isn’t up to it and it’s clearly visible he wasn’t for over a year don’t let him sit there because he has a contract, we as paying customers deserve better. You’ve got one job, get the best manager you can and leave the rest to him.

  4. Moyes’s aim was to do what Managers refer to as ‘getting back in’ – in other words working – the vast majority of Managers are out of work.

Just look at the former West Ham managers – Macari, Bonds, Redknapp, Roeder, Curbishley, Brooking, Pardew, Zola, Allardyce and now Bilic are all out of work – you’d expect Macari, Bonds and Brooking accept that they are Retired but the others would all like to ‘get back in’ – it’s a precarious profession!

The David’s have made a big mistake in publicly saying that Moyes is only on a six-month Contract, that has undermined him already – the job he’s got is hard enough without any added pressure. The best thing that Gold and Sullivan can do is to shut up and let him get on with it – back him in the January Window but otherwise keeping their big mouths buttoned!

  5. Do you not think everybody would have known it was a six month contract regardless of a public announcement? It would have been common knowledge in days. You can’t keep such things secret from the press.
