Everton supporters are -anecdotally – starting to fret about David Moyes, so soon after his second coming to the Merseyside club. One win in their last six is not, perhaps, how the Toffees fans were dreaming this season would pan out after Moyesie spent something approaching £100 million in the summer window.

If the stories coming across our desk today are true, there’s a very good chance that those same Everton fans are going to become a little more restless in January with their Manager seemingly hell – bent on repeating the self-same mistake he made at West Ham: Reportedly, David Moyes wants to sign James Ward-Prowse!

A Goodisonnews.com ‘Exclusive’ this afternoon trumpets the headline:

“James Ward-Prowse backed to join forces with David Moyes: ‘The perfect club for him in January would be Everton… Everton to eye Ward-Prowse swoop as West Ham want sale:

Hammers fans could but hope that this turns out to be true.

Prepare the David Moyes statue in the Olympic Park if that deal comes off! However, reading further, it turns out merely to be an opinion from an ex-Everton Scout Bryan King:

“Ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Ward-Prowse could be a perfect option for the Toffees:

“A move to Everton would certainly give him a new lease of life,” King said. He’s too good a player to be left out of that West Ham team.” Sorry? ‘Too good a player?”

And that there is where the ‘report’ lost its credibility. Sadly, from West Ham’s point of view the chances of David Moyes’ Everton  actually submitting a  bid together seems moderate to zero  and based solely on an Ex-Scout’s outdated opinion of an outdated player who might have been decent five years ago.

Rats. I was just getting my hopes up that the £100k a week – plus  ‘JWP’ might be on his way.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

The atmosphere in their new stadium will take a turn for the worse. Committed, loyal fans will soon be yelping about how they have lost their soul moving from Fortress Goodison. The manager will need to be replaced. The owners will have to sell up to someone else for the good old days to return.

We’ve seen it all before. A repeat is on the cards.

To be fair JWP did well under Moyes in his last season in charge. 11 assists and 6 goals, seemed a reasonable signing at that time

Would love to see this happen but doubt they will match his current wages for the next 2.5 seasons so we might get another Danny Ings on our hands
