West Ham are said to be bracing themselves for unwelcome interest in some of the few players the club are desperate to keep. With the transfer window closing in, the Hammers appear to be struggling to bring in reinforcements – a situation that has alerted rival clubs ready to test David Sullivan with offers he doesn’t want.

Midfielder Tomáš Souček is one such player, but Claret & Hugh have learned he will not push for a move despite strong interest from Everton. A representative close to the 30-year-old Czech confirmed to us this morning his love for West Ham remains undiminished.

Reunited at Everton?

Former Irons boss David Moyes is keen to reunite with one of his favourites at Everton, as more clubs circle to pick over the carcass of West Ham’s awful start to the season. The Toffees have already made an enquiry and could soon firm up their interest with a formal bid.

With matchwinners in short supply, Graham Potter spoke last night about Souček’s future following his goal in the 3-2 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers: “Tomáš is incredibly important for us. You see his qualities and what he brings to the team. I can’t see him going anywhere.”

Claret & Hugh have been told repeatedly this summer of Souček’s commitment to West Ham. If, as expected, Moyes makes his move from Everton, “Big Sou” will not be pushing to leave.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

  • David Green says:

Soucek is the only player from that midfield 3 or 4 including Irving i would keep, though i don’t think he should be a starter. He doesn’t add anything really go forward and defensive work is ok but not spectacular he doesn’t pass well.

  • Kenny Irons says:

Bowen and Soucek are two players who genuinely love the fans ( more than the club ! ) add in the fact they are the only two players who score, then we need to keep the big Czech. Yes, we all know his limitations but JWP and Rodriguez are the two who need to go to get some pace and energy in the midfield, now it’s desperation for a Centre Back and a striker with mobility !
Window nearly closed, so not holding my breath.
At the moment can’t see us getting a point anywhere let alone a win !
    Dark days…..

  • Mr T R says:

I’ve read elsewhere that the only players West Ham need to move on are the ones they want to go. So the likes of Paqueta and Soucek are staying.
Should be a different story for Cornet, Irving and Emerson.

  • Pmax says:

I wish he would come in for JWP after all he did buy him for £30m in the first place

  • Jeeps says:

It would appear that Paqueta and Soucek, although constantly rumoured, will not be leaving.
Both have had a number of chances to go but with 6 days left they’re intentions look to be whu.
The clear out looks to be final.
Perhaps Noble should be giving a shoulder for Potter to lean on if he would listen.
Transfers have been bizarre, no money/no signings needed now this mad rush, what can you believe?
Signing Fernandes for £40-£50m will pose questions of how.
Talk of signing another goal keeper surely other positions are much more vital.
Koni de Winter_c/bk. Breel Embolo, versatile/explosive pace. Uche covers mid attack with height and pace_£13m/Schmid_£13m.
Not Fernandes/Onyeduka or Mukau whose injured but all at affordable prices with versatility.

  • OLIVER says:

That Sullivan has taken the fans for fools ever since he has been at the club and it is about time the fans show him what they think of him he sells the best player and then lets other people take the blame with his lies what a joke of a man

  • Paul Basnett says:

In a midfield devoid of pace, defensive and creative abilities Soucek seems better than the others maybe.
A big upside is he scores goals but in terms of dominance in midfield he’s slow and gives the ball away a lot.
With other better players around him than JWP and Rodriguez he maybe be better.
I still think he’s not a starter in a serious midfield more a sub to maybe score a goal.

  • Matt says:

Soucek or our BFG 🇩🇪 should be captain. Only two at the moment that are leaders of men.

I’d say the BFG before the Chelsea game whilst in the huddle was doing that anyway without the armband.
