“We don’t have an awful lot back in the long term. We’re getting close to having all the short-term injured back. Jose Fonte is back and needs some practice matches and we have a couple of others, Winston Reid one of them, who are close, but others like Pedro and one or two others like Edi Fernandes who are going to be out for longer.”
David Moyes says Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic are closer to a return but Winston Reid is suffering from a throat infection.
Moyes told reporters in a pre-match press conference “We’re getting people back and closer to fitness. Michail and Marko have done a bit of training this week. Hopefully we’re getting closer to getting those players back. Winston Reid has had a bit of a throat infection.”
On Pedro Obiang, he added: “Hopefully it won’t be the whole season, but he’s had a repair to his medial ligament. We might get him back before the end, but probably not.”

Does all that and the rest of it mean we will compete next season in both League and Cups for a European Spot , or not ? .
All getting a bit tiring now ; can’t imagine how it is for you , Mr Moyes ! .
Every season is the same ; injuries and promises ,,, throwing away the chances of a Run Out at Wembley . We need something , especially after that horrible day in 2006 . It still hurts . And no amount of band aid will stop the niggling pain . Hopefully we can survive this season and come back stronger for 2018/19 . WE NEED IT .
Ney , we yearn for it !!!
Reid can play with a sore throat as long as he is not running an elevated temperature which can be deleterious to cardiac function.
