David Moyes needs to show bravery
David Moyes needs to show bravery after Claret and Hugh‘s exclusive news of yesterday became reality today with the news that Jarrod Bowen has remained in London ahead of the Europa Cup match against Backa Topola tomorrow ( Thursday). With Michail Antonio still injured and Danny Ings being, well, Danny Ings, the manager needs to show his faith in young Mubama.
Let’s be entirely realistic. Had it been a fit Mikey or Ings who got in at the near post to force a goal – an equaliser – which finally helped us get three points would Moyes drop either of them to the bench for the next game. Answer: No!
Given too that he spoke very well of his performance after the game he really should have decided to include him tomorrow evening and as mentioned in pieces here earlier, against Palace on Saturday. Talk is cheap – we wait for his actions.
I recall Harry Redknapp telling me years ago in a chat we were having that clubs have two ways to go – they can spend fortunes on top strikers – if indeed they can persuade them into the club – or concentrate on the academy. Not wrong and the shape of our academy right now looks amazing. The boys Mubama and Marshall look total business at early ages whilst playing in a team which has been unbeaten in 12 games.
Come on Moyes this is Mubama’s moment.
