Hughie Southon calls on David Moyes to resign from Hammers

Moyes exit closer

David Moyes needs to resign from the Hammers.

He has just explained that the speculation over his future must be in doubt but that he loves West Ham and only wants the best for us. Sadly – and that is genuine  for him and the club – David Moyes is not the best thing for our beloved club.

He knows how poor things were last season and a repeat is now noyt sp much on the cards as a reality and the doubts creeping into his head are now on the record.

David Moyes needs to resign from Hammers

I do not expect him to resign as he has an inflexible nature which is not a bad thing in some circumstances but is a real problem at the moment. The Hammers need to make sure there is someone on hand to take over as caretaker and that is another problem which isn’t easy to solve as most candidates want more than that.

But he must go as  we are seeing a repeat of everything that has gone before under his spell in charge and it is unacceptable! He often makes much of his experience and on this occasion he will know therefore that he could and perhaps do the right thing.

Hopefully his love of West Ham stretches further  than looking for compensation.

Moyes will never resign. Sullivan will keep him on until the end of his contract, I’m certain. Between now and then a replacement will be sounded out. If a British coach is what the club are after, then look no further than Kieran McKenna at Ipswich Town, who has not yet taken up an improved contract offered to him at the end of last season. McKenna is a brilliant tactical coach who learned his trade at Manchester United alongside Michael Carrick

Completely agree Hugh. For two years we were managing to keep the right side of the tight margin between success and failure. Last season we fell completely on to the other side and Moyes didn’t know how to get us back. Of course he must go, but this massively unaware, naive and amateur board won’t do anything until it is too late …as usual.

What will it take to attract a higher level manager, sometimes teams make a living finding and exporting talent. Maybe questions need to asked of the board rather than if the manager they back is staying?

Moyes has been saved time and time again by great performances when it matters but is totally unable to motivate the players . His tactical awareness of substitutions is non existent and always illogical . He has had 4 transfer windows to find a centre forward . He ruined Haller ,and Anderson by trying to change the way they play and have been highly successful but continues to play Antonio who is not a centre forward and then replaces him with Ings who is terrible . We now have a team full of talent who will not hang around for long if Moyes continues . We are constantly losing great prospects because Moyes refuses to pick them and now the youngster Mumbama is moving on through lack of opportunity and seeing donkeys prefered to his immense promise. Time to go Moyes and tomorrow is too long to wait . COYI
