David Moyes could be poised to return to management following Everton’s decision to part ways with Sean Dyche.
The Toffees have been in dreadful form recently, and it seemed only a matter of time before Dyche was replaced. Former West Ham boss Moyes has been waiting patiently for a Goodison Park position to become available, and it remains to be seen whether his patience will be rewarded.
Everton were linked with a move for new Hammers boss Graham Potter, but as Claret & Hugh reported two days ago, the former Brighton manager only ever had eyes for the West Ham job.
One of the main reasons Potter opted for the London Stadium rather than Everton was West Ham’s stronger squad and ability to compete in the transfer market.
While Everton will soon move to their new stadium, their spending power is severely limited. If Moyes makes the short trip from his Cheshire home to Merseyside, he would face similar financial constraints to those he dealt with during his first stint at Goodison.
Earlier this season, Moyesie appeared on an Everton fan podcast where he revealed that Goodison Park was his spiritual home. Since then it has appeared only a matter of time before the Scotsman made his return.
I certainly agree with you Taffyhammer, he was a solid manager for all his time at Everton, but as always the fans wanted more and when I saw them regularly at the sports bar, they wanted him gone. I wish him well, he will try, but not sure if will be enough this time.
Just heard an Everton fan on Sky Sports say they were hoping for a manager like Potter for the long term but would be happy if Moyes came in for 18 months or so. He said “For a lot of Everton fans that’s like a warm blanket to keep everyone cozy for the next few months”
Hope that Wee Davey does get back ‘home’ to Everton. They were rock solid for his first eleven years. Always finished above West Ham. Never looked like hitting the real highs but always bubbling under the top five.
He can do a similar job for them now. Really hope that he does.
Proviso this time will be that Everton no longer finish above us and don’t knock us out of any cups.

Everton have got the worst squad in the premier league. Not sure even the messiah version of Moyes could keep them up.
Please, please, please, please, please be true,
Moyes would keep Everton up.
Good luck to him if he goes back there.
My sympathies to Evertonians.
