Paqueta scored a beauty in Greece and another tonight scoring from a beautiful ball forward from James Ward-Prowse. Moyes, however, admitted the team hadn’t played well over the 90 minutes but was pleased and relieved to have got three points which keeps them on top of Group A.

He said the team had kept trying to do the right thing by getting the ball into the final third but couldn’t create much from there or make many chances. He added: “From that point of view we let ourselves down but Olympiacos defended very well.

He then added his thoughts on Paqueta saying: He really did score a great goal out there and I’m really pleased for him that he got another here. He deserved it because I said he does an awful lot of stuff that goes unnoticed.”
