Daws back in defence for Hammers’ night of their lives

David Moyes has immediately restored Craig Dawson to the starting XI against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-final second leg this evening.

The Hammers defender returns after missing out on the league defeat to Arsenal because of the red card he received against Chelsea.

Vlad Coufal plays at right-back, while Alphonse Areola continues to be selected in Europa League games.

Elsewhere in defence, Kurt Zouma partners Daws, while Aaron Cresswell plays at left-back. As ever, Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek play in midfield.

Mikey Antonio is back up top, being supported by Jarrod Bowen, Manuel Lanzini, and Pablo Fornals.

The Irons are well aware that they will need to overcome a 2-1 deficit to have any chance of reaching the final, on the night of their lives, where they will play either Rangers or RB Leipzig. The German side are leading that tie too, having won 1-0 in the first leg.

Full West Ham XI: Areola; Coufal, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Lanzini, Fornals; Antonio.

  1. What an utter screw up of a half. Awful in every conceivable way.

  2. Why can’t I find C&H on Facebook? Anyone got any idea?

  3. Thanks Hugh. I hate sulking alone!….
