Daws for England!

TalkSPORT’s Moose claims that Craig Dawson NEEDS to be in the England squad for the World Cup!

The rock at the heart of the Hammers defence was unbeatable again on Thursday as David Moyes’ side thumped Lyon 3-0 in their own backyard to qualify for the Europa League semi-final.

They will play Eintracht Frankfurt in the last four, with the German side staging their own amazing performance on Thursday, as they dispatched Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Moose insists that England simply don’t have that much depth at centre-back beyond the first-choice pairing of John Stones and Harry Maguire, with the likes of Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings regularly picked as their deputies.

And Moose believes that Daws should be on the plane to Qatar at the end of the year, with England set to face USA, Iran and one of Wales, Scotland, or Ukraine.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, the presenter and Irons fans said: “If I’m Gareth Southgate, I don’t think England are blessed with centre-halves. I’m taking Craig Dawson to Qatar.

“The man loves to defend; he throws himself in front of everything and he can score with his head too with the amount of important goals he gets for West Ham from free kicks and corners.

“He might not be able to play out from the back like your Rio Ferdinand’s or John Stones’ but sometimes you need experience.”
