Dawson sends Lyon warning

Craig Dawson has sent a warning to Lyon over their famed hostile atmosphere, insisting that the Hammers will be more than ready for it.

The French club were actually thrown out of the country’s cup competition as fans fought during an away game against Paris FC, while a clash with Marseille was abandoned after missiles were thrown at Dimitri Payet.

The Hammers go into the game against the Ligue 1 side well aware that they will need to win to reach the semi-finals and play either Eintracht Frankfurt or Barcelona.

The first leg, of course, was hugely controversial as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw after Aaron Cresswell was sent off for a foul on Mousa Dembele in the final minute of the first half.

Jarrod Bowen scored the opener but Tanguy Ndombele levelled proceedings, leaving the tie on a knife-edge ahead of the clash in France.

And Dawson insists that the Irons will be more than ready for next week’s clash.

He said, as per the London Evening Standard“We all know what it will be like. We’ll be ready for that. Hopefully, we can get the right result.

“Will we relish it? Yeah, of course. It will be a difficult game for us. We’ll be professional but be ready for it. We know a bit more about them now.”
