Deadline Day Reckoning for West Ham Board

Image for Deadline Day Reckoning for West Ham Board

Transfer deadline day is finally here and, for once, I am hoping West Ham United do more late business than simply recruiting a defender.

At this stage, Axel Disasi still looks the most likely arrival, with other rumours thin on the ground. The window slams shut at 7pm this evening and while a central defender remains the priority, West Ham are stupidly light in attacking areas.

To put it bluntly, having Adama Traoré and Callum Wilson as your main options off the bench simply is not enough — yet that is currently all we have.

Saving Money While Fighting Relegation

So far, there has been no major spending spree from the Hammers board. Instead, West Ham have largely broken even on transfer fees while significantly reducing the wage bill. It looks bad.

At a time when the club should have been spending to stay in the Premier League, they appear to have been saving instead.

There is a growing hope that we may be witnessing the final days of David Sullivan and Karren Brady running the club. Despite what they might like to believe, it will be this season — not Prague — that defines their legacy as custodians of West Ham United.

The next few hours will tell us everything we need to know.

We are about to find out just how serious they really are about keeping us up.

Age catches up with us all at some time.

If they need the money and new interests then the time could be any year soon.

Looking at Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, the signings theyre making, if we don’t make a similar effort it’s going to look as if our owners aren’t bothered about getting relegated.

Gonzo they are not worried about the club, just how they can fill their pockets and purse. I still wonder what happened to all that money that was made when the old ground was sold? Now we don’t own a ground have a poor squad and to my mind very little hope up steering away from relegation. Don’t blame Nuno, he needs a stronger bench and he hasn’t got it and won’t be getting it either.

Not enough time left to recruit, only the leftovers as has already been said this should have been sorted at the opening g of the window. I’m now hoping that when we are relegated B ,S and co leave the club they have destroyed. They have created the worst relegation by pure neglect.

Apparently Harwood-Bellis AND Disasi due in.
Even if this is happening, we’re one injury/suspension short of crisis point in all areas due to a lack of depth and mindless loaning out of players.
Run by amateurs and nothing will change until this does.

That it’s come to deadline day says all that needs to be known.
