Deadline Day Report: Hammers want Bundesliga ace

By Gonzo

West Ham United are reported to be interested in signing Union Berlin winger Sheraldo Becker, according to Sky Germany. The Hammers are hurriedly searching for strikers following Terem Moffi’s decision to sign for Nice rather than move to the Premier League.

Everton are also thought to be weighing up whether to bid for the Suriname international, but the Hammers are keen too. According to the media in Germany, West Ham have enquired about Becker, but it is not known if they plan to make an offer at this late stage.

The Berlin star is supposedly keen to a move to the Premier League, however Berlin are understandably desperate to keep him.

Michail Antonio’s performance in last nights FA Cup tie against Derby, will surely have persuaded manager David Moyes to retain his services. However, with Danny Ings and Gianluca Scamacca unavailable through injury, Moyes may be tempted to move for a striker as cover.

Maxwel Cornet was scheduled to return to training yesterday, but a return date remains a mystery.
