Football transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that West Ham and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the sale of German striker Niclas Füllkrug. The structure of the transfer includes a €27 million fee plus €5 million in performance-related add-ons.

A private jet has been chartered for tomorrow morning in what promises to be a hectic day of transfer activity, including the announcement of Summerville and a medical for Argentine World Cup winner Guido Rodríguez.

Fullkrug was expected to fly to London today, however some last minute haggling between the Hammers and the Bundesliga club have drawn out the transfer somewhat.

Speaking on his social media account, Romano revealed: “Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham, here we go! Medical booked for Saturday. West Ham director Tim Steidten has closed both Füllkrug and Guido Rodríguez deals today on verbal agreement… both are set for medicals.”

Other sources are also confirming that Füllkrug’s deal with the Hammers is likely to be worth €3 million per year net, which represents a significant wage increase.

If these 3 come off tomorrow added to the business we have already done, I would say it has been a very good window. If we can add AWB then it will be a tremendous window and I can cancel my last minute prayer vigil on transfer deadline day praying for a miracle. This is so unlike us that I am not sure what’s happening!!!!

    • John Harrison says:

All the buys this time (prospective or confirmed) make sense. The money spent on Fullkrug will, I think, be repaid. This means 2-3 years of a world class striker, maybe more if he’s as fit as Lewandowski. And this for an amount equivalent to what we lost on Haller! Summerville is a tremendous catch. These are top players. But we really need a right back, also perhaps a CB (though we have 4, if you include Zouma…) and Alvarez can play there if necessary. But the signings so far are imo excellent. A decent right back and this will have been a great window for the club.

      • Brian says:

The point is that safety first Moyes would never have made an audacious swoop like this one. Füllkrug is IMHO at the top of his game and has a good few years to offer us that would balance out any future resale value. Plus there’s no Moyes to ruin him.

      YES!!!!!!

      Proper! COYI.

Strange times to be a Hammer ⚒️⚒️⚒️

  • Martin storrie says:

I keep reading done deal & sale agreed , then to find us £10m, £8m,
£5 million short on the asking price, it would be great to get all 5 deals done, then only central defender & midfielder needed, add to that a win v Palace in couple of hours & it would be a good day & have us fans waiting for season to start

    • Minnesota Iron says:

HERE WE GO!!! … Of all the improbable deals and transfer conjecture currently in the media, I would like to offer the WORLD EXCLUSIVE that West Ham won’t be beating Palace in the next few hours… on the premise they are playing here in the US… tomorrow… 🙂

    • Iain says:

Yeah, whatever happens we aren’t gonna beat Palace tomorrow. They will take us to the cleaners. Not a prob, it’s not the prem.

  • S says:

Once the “we completed a transfer” dopamine that most fans chase dies down, you’ll realize we just spent 27m on a 31 year old with 15 goals last year and no sell-on value. If Moyes had done this you’d all be up in arms.

    • Chr says:

Nope, still up in arms. Perplexed by this. 27 plus add one….but the kid who’s 11 years younger and wants to be here (and cheaper weekly) – we passed on as being expensive? I get Villa was being ****s and moving the goalposts but….

      • S says:

I’m with you. Wasn’t nuts about the price tag and baggage that came with Duran, but a 20 year old striker with tons of potential at least makes sense on paper. Signing a 31 year old for 27m isn’t my idea of good business (although I hope he scores plenty of goals). Again, if Moyes had done this, people would be apoplectic.

        • Benny the Aussie says:

I agree with the last 3 comments.
This is crazy money for a 31 year old that’s 32 in Feb? I read somewhere.
Dads Striker Army here we go

      • Iain says:

You can’t have just kids. Duran was overpriced by Villa. This fella is the real deal. If he can give us a couple of years it’s good business. We have a lot of positions to fill and limited funds to spend. It’s easy to miss the diff between 20 mil and 40 mill if it aint your money. 🤣

      • David says:

There’s just no pleasing some of us fans on here! Well, if it makes you feel better it’s €27 million, which is probably about £23 mill. Still a lot I know considering his age, but it is what it is. The guy is a proven goalscorer! If he bangs in 15 league goals next season we will be well on our way! It will give us chance to take stock and a yyounger striker in a season or two. Finally, as regards Moyes, we had the chance to sign this very same Fullkrug last season, but Moyes vetoed it, claiming that he wasn’t good enough! I think what Moyes actually meant was that he refused to join the list of strikes that Moyes’ style destroyed bcos the guy is a German international fo God’s sake!

        • S says:

I’m not unhappy to have a good striker in, but we’re consistently overpaying for players this window, which will hinder us in the long term. And still don’t have the defense sorted out, which was the problem last year. For all the hoopla about a striker, we scored plenty of goals. Would much rather have spent this money on a good CB. And my overall point about Moyes is that had he made this same transfer, people would have declared it bad business. “He left us with the oldest squad in the league, we need to get younger!” has now become “can’t just have kids.” But because it’s Steidten, it’s considered good business. I sure hope it is, but we’re spending money like a drunken sailor on shore leave right now, and I’m not sure we’re getting our money’s worth.

        • Westhamtillidie says:

Exactly what I think. And hopefully give time for someone from the academy to stake their claim.

        • Westhamtillidie says:

Exactly what I think. Hopefully give a chance for someone from the academy to come through and stake their claim.

          • Dal M says:

I don’t see this signing as a problem. A German international, played in last seasons Champions League final. Has an eye for goal. We now have very nippy/tricky wingers with a solid No. 9 to aim at.

    • Dutch Courage says:

      Utterly pathetic move (if true).

    • John says:

Moyes never managed to do this when we had the chance to cement a place in the top 4-6 teams

    • Roy M says:

Moyes just bought strikers that didn’t fit his one inflexible system – then lost a fortune on them anyway. If JL does the same thing fine, but he won’t… This guy is being bought to get the goals to push us back into Europe, not as an investment.

  • Billy says:

Great signing. Really excited about the Fulk and the Argentinian. Both over 30 but but both can have immediate impact. A managers life is short these days. They’ve got a couple of years to make it work. I guess Lopetegui wants tried and tested. He hasn’t got time to go nurturing promising players for the future because he knows he might well not be here in the future. He needs some players to be ready to go for the here and now and that’s what these latest batch of signings are. Fullkrug is a proper striker in the Harry Kane mould. That’s the way it’s going back to now with big strong proper centre forwards that can do it all.

    • David says:

Thank you! Someone with a little sense and perspective. I wasn’t keen on Duran personally. Not that he’s not decent, but at £40 large he’s way overpriced. That kind of money should buy us a tried and tested striker, not someone who has been warming the bench watching Watkins bang in a ****load

    • John Sharp says:

Fully agree Billy. As Bill Shankly said ‘you win nothing with kids’. The addition of these seasoned pros give our squad real depth and allow us to have a Plan B which was a major failing of Moyes and his small squad approach. Bring in a right back and a right footed CB and pay off Zouma as the man’s finished.

      • Dave Peel says:

But didn’t Hansen say the same when Utd won the treble. 23 million for a 31 year old is a waste compared to 36 for a 20 year old that would give us 5 years. Big mistake. But then so was bringing in the negative manager. Think we’ll be bottom half most of the season

        • rollercoaster hammer says:

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 come back half way through the season and give us your review. some of our fans actually WANT us to do poorly. you’d rather cry than laugh, but thanks for making ME laugh 👍🏻

  • Paul says:

I agree with 2 or 3 statements you guys have made. Well 85-90% anyway. LOL.

But. to be honest with you guys. if i was a ”Girl” id have the ”Hots” for our new winger ”Crysencio-Summerville” with 23 goals and 10 assists he excites me a lot. ok that was in the Championship, but with his pace and ball control i really think he could do the same if not better for the Irons this season.

And Please Guys. give the ”Boss” and ”Tim-Stiedon” some credit for the job they done so for in this transfer windon. and who says we’re finished yet anyway.

Just adding my 2 sences worth for what it’s worth.

  • Whistler says:

Which would be worse, a 20yr old who is unproven with attitude for £40m or a 31yr old who scored 15 goals last season with plenty of assists for £23m.
Supporters are moaning about both players but if they don’t perform I would rather lose £23m and have money to spend in January. If we sign the Dutch wide player the German will be quite adequate and we will have £17m to go towards another centre back or box to box midfielder.
Have a great weekend and we will see what happens tomorrow.

  • Mart says:

Good signing, strong and knows where the goal is. If he gets the right service could get a hat full. I’m not concerned about the business side, if we win something and qualify for Europe that’s his money back and some. If in a couple of seasons he slows down West Ham could be in a better place to attract younger top strikers. Let’s hope so.

  • Pat says:

New Nothing about the player before seeing him play for Germany this summer and what i saw i liked but never entered my head that this would be the striker we would want but if he does sign then hopefully a wiser head up front will benefit us…just have to say the picture you have put up brings images of Peter Withe(google it youngsters!) to mind….if he plays like that then we have got a good striker on our hands

  • Lee says:

Will it all happen … heard it all before .. players definitely signing only to get snatched away by a better offer ….

We will see what happens …. 🤔

  • Vaughany says:

Don’t know much about these player’s
But we don’t have enough British players in the squad

    • Chicken run says:

it’s not over until another couple of weeks I think that fulkrug will be a decent signing. At least we know that he can score goals definitely an upgrade on what we got at the moment I wouldn’t rule out Duran joining us in January
