Declan gives Moyes a big nudge on £27m Iron!

|

Nikola Vlasic was bought for £27 million and has taken some hefty knocking from some since making fleeting appearances in the team  this season.

Given that David Moyes was desperately keen to bring back Jesse Lingard back to the London Stadium and Vlasic’s arrival it seems on the face of it a strange decision.

But Declan Rice would appear to feel that the guy has plenty to offer telling Soccer AM per Hammers News: “I would put him in there, I would say that he’s one of the top three strongest players I’ve played with as well, he is so strong.”

Vlasic looks tough and hard to shake off the ball but thus far he has hardly done enough or been given the chance to show what he’s got.

I reckon Dec’s words may have been the best he’s heard since he has been at the club but I’m still struggling to understand why you spend £27 million on a player rather than – let’s say £20 million for example  – on the man you really want who is known to be your Number One.

I can see what Dec means about Vlasic’s his strength and really want to see what Nikola is all about.

The team certainly needs some impetus – it would be interesting to see what would happen if the manager follows the captain’s advice and gives a run of games to a guy who needs to be given his chance given the price we paid.

Put Vlasic in as a false nine instead of Antonio. We can play Fornals, Benrahma and Bowen with him and don’t do the sub swap shop for the sake of it – look at U 23 players. I’m assuming Lanzini is injured here. Meanwhile, DM must sort out the fiasco with Rice/Soucek – we are contriving to cock this up just now
