Declan illness update

CandH Exclusive by Hughie Southon

Declan Rice has been forced to withdraw from the England squad because of illness.

The non-stop Hammers skipper has ben in all the action this season but Gareth Southgate has been forced to live without him this time around with England due to play Albania and San Marino.

Claretandhugh was told by a key insider that the Hammers skipper played through Sunday’s amazing victory over Liverpool at the London Stadium with a virus.

And he added that if a player was ever in need of a rest it was Dec with the club and England agreeing that was the best way forward.

It’s a tribute again to the 22 year old that he should produce such a fabulous performance against the scousers whilst obviously being unwell.

It’s always uncertain how long it takes to recover from a virus but hopes are high Dec will be available to lead the Irons against Wolves in their next Premier League match

  1. On hearing the news of Declan’s withdrawal from the England squad, I felt that most if not all of our supporters would be pleased with such a coincidence as he plays with such intensity and drive that we can’t help but feel worried that he may suffer through his exertions.
But what we can see, others can see also and what a coincidence it is.
I wish Declan a speedy recovery and 100% rest in the meantime.
