West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady says Hammer Declan Rice is one of the nicest people in football.
Speaking in her Saturday Sun column Lady Brady said Rice is a genuine, polite and humble young man who absolutely dedicated to his family and his football.
She describes him as a fan at heart who had he not been playing a key role in Gareth Southgate’s midfield engine room on Wednesday — would have been in the stands or in front of the TV with other normal England fans.
The Baroness adds he has been representing England in the same way he does for his club showing that unassuming yet commanding leadership with the willingness to keep learning and improving. He epitomises the Never Give Up attitude that has been instilled as a key pillar of the West Ham Way.
Claret and Hugh say:
It is good to hear that Declan Rice is grounded and remains one of the nice guys in football, it sounds like he hasn’t let fame and money go to his head. He is a family man who just wants to play and support football. It’s great that he still makes time to watch the U23’s whether he can and also that he visits his former coaches at Chadwell heath for a catch up over a cuppa. We have always been told he wants to stay in Surrey close to his family and friends so a move to Manchester would be surprising. Despite a fantastic Euro 2020 performance for the 22-year-old, I don’t think we have seen the last of our Hammers in a Claret and Blue shirt. We think it would take a massive bid in excess of £100m and guaranteed Champions League football from a London club to tempt both the club and the player away from East London but it would be surprising if that were to happen this summer.
Pretty well summed that up in that post. Always said won’t move out of London especially to manure or scummers only city would be viable but Chelsea due to his best friend is the obvious and stays in the best city in UK and one of the best in the world too having travelled alot can definitely say that.
