With it likely that he has just seven Premier League matches left in the claret and blue the fans made their feelings known throughout the 4-0 win at Bournemouth.

As the captain he knows we’ve had a fairly crappy Prem League season up to March. He knows the squad and it’s potential. There’ll probably be other players coming and going in the summer so it could depend on who comes in and how much the owners are willing to fork out (again) only soon after the window opens-before prospective buyers put any bids in.

As long as he doesn’t end up at Tottenham … or Arsenal … or Chelsea … or God forbid, Manchester United or …

I think as long as he doesnt end up at Spurs we will be ok with it, hes clearly world class and he does deserve better than 15th

Hes always said in interviews when asked that he’d like to play champions league football. Never once to be fair did he ever say that he wouldn’t want that to be with West Ham. A couple of years ago we came close only missing out in one game I seem to remember when a win turned into a draw. That missing two points was the only reason Declan hasn’t already played champions league with West Ham. Being realistic however every player has their price and it looks like Declan will go to the highest bidder. Probably a situation the owners will be quite happy about from a purely business point of view and take the emotion out of it football is a business. Since he came through the academy Declan Rice represents 100 million pounds of pure profit. Hard for us to turn down if Declan wants to go and play for a bigger club.

I think the world of him and remember when he was first included in our first-team squad…
Little did I realise the trajectory that he was on, as he was in the squad on his own merit or that I was watching the birth of a West Ham legend.
I have run out of the words that I can use to describe his performances because as one of our own, World Class doesn’t come close to doing him justice.
I’m a little sceptical that we can manage to keep hold of him beyond the end of this campain, but if we do somehow manage to keep him, I’ll be over the moon.
