Declan return date set

Declan Rice and his fellow World Cup participants will return to training with the Hammers next week.

The England midfielder suffered quarter-final misery as the Three Lions were knocked out by France.

Declan has since gone on holiday as he looks to put that defeat behind him, while Morocco international Nayef Aguerd is also set for a very short break after they were knocked out by Les Bleus last night.

All World Cup players who reached the quarter-finals, or beyond, will be back in London next week and are likely to be thrown straight into David Moyes’ side for the Boxing Day encounter with Arsenal.

Declan, of course, played in every game for England at the World Cup, and has also played every minute of every game for the Hammers thus far this season.

Jucas Paqueta, Thilo Khrer  and Alphonse Areola were all involved with Brazil knocked out by Croatia in the last-16, while Areola remains in the competition with France, although he is their back-up goalkeeper.
