Declan Rice has come in for some serious stick from West Ham fans following yesterdays 1-0 victory against Arsenal.

Last night Martin wrote about Hammers fans signing “you should have signed for a big club” during yesterdays smash & grab at the Emirates.

Unfortunately for the former Irons captain the baiting and banter didn’t stop there as West Ham fans have taken to social media to post a series of pictures and clips from the match.

Most popular of all is the incredible image of Jarrod Bowen diving to head home the only goal of the game whilst Rice watched on in horror. . . in many respects it was the perfect pic as a former Hammers captain looked on helplessly as the new fella wearing the armband scored.

Probably the worst picture of the day for Declan and Arsenal was a picture of Rice, sitting on the Gunners bench, head in hands as the full implications of the result dawned on him.

Of course, we’ll have to wait until the result of todays Liverpool v Man City game to see if Arsenal’s Premier League title push is fully derailed but it doesn’t look good.

As for the Declan Rice baiting . . . it’s just a bit of harmless fun. After all, it was Dec who wanted to leave The London Stadium in search of trophies. The irony is of course that the Gooners £105m man won more in East London than he has in ‘Norf’ London.

Don’t agree with people booing him at all. Dec stayed longer than he needed to and led our team to our first trophy in 43 years and has always refused to celebrate his goals against us. He clapped our fans when going over to take corners yesterday, and who could blame him for wanting to join a Champions League team and play at the highest level? Yes Arsenal was probably not the best choice, but just look at the season Man City are having now after being knocked out of the Champions League and their 2-0 defeat against Liverpool today. If only we could sign a box to box midfielder of his quality it would transform our hopes of getting back into Europe.

Once a Hammer, always a Hammer, good luck Dec.

I certainly don’t agree booing or being horrible to him ..imo you can tell he hates playing against us …He is a top bloke imo…but if a player of bowen quality stays with us his whole career then this lad will certainly be one of west ham greats…people like noble and potts obviously decent players..but very rare to get someone of bowen quality stay at a club like us all his career..I hope so
.and we will get bids ..but I think it’s definitely a possibility…danny dyer would never let him go ..that’s our ace 🤣..let’s Hope he stays with his daughter for the rest of his life ..wich again is a definite possibility…top man/ dad on and of the pitch ….perfect picture with dec in background
..but he definitely loves us still and always will. So will always be a hammer at heart imo…you can’t boo a bloke who lifted our first trophy for years for us ..and he carried us on his own in games loads of times…..big respect to both imo…scarles will be the next one 👍⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️🔥

Good luck to Dec’, going forward , bear no malice towards him.
However, all I care about are players who wear the Claret & Blue. Once they leave, have no interest in them to be honest ( other than if they play for England, obviously).
Great performance from the lads, gave everything for the shirt but this needs to be the norm’,not pick and choose when they want to turn up. Looking for a good win against Leicester, nothing else acceptable.

  • Ray says:

Yep, the banter is good, but I also think he will get his turn again, and when he does, we will have to take it.

  • Dave says:

You can’t blame him for trying to play at the highest level, he chose his best opportunity in London as he didn’t want to move his family.
He knows like all of us, with our owners we’ll never compete for the league or domestic cups regularly.
If anything he’s not progressed as a player which is probably why city etc didn’t pay what arsenal did.

  • Alan says:

If you want trophies you go to Man City, Bayern, Real Madrid, Barca etc. Not Arsenal.

He joined them on the basis of one good season prior where they finished second, before that they’d finished 5th and 8th. Had he joined City he’d already have a league winners medal.

Two seasons and nothing with Arsenal. Luckily for him he was able to lift a trophy with West Ham.

Agree,at least Dec said he was going to leave in the future which he did ,I don’t agree with booing him but as you say banter is banter. Hope he does well at arsenal but never against us

  • Jboy says:

I think he looks at West Ham as his first girlfriend who he left for someone a bit more up market.

However once a year she comes back and she still looks pretty good..And he goes all wobbly. He then asks himself deep down..Why did I leave her
Admit it Dec….You messed up mate..

  • Terry says:

Don’t agree with the booing of him but the banter is what it is banter which I think he understands & is funny.
