Hammer Declan Rice set a new record last night for the earliest penalty miss in Premier League history, striking the post from the spot after 2 minutes and four seconds.
The 22-year-old can probably smile about it now after his side overcame West Bromwich Albion 3-1 by the final whistle.
Rice’s penalty record drops down to 50% after one hit and one miss. In February he scored his first Premier League penalty against Sheffield United and last night’s miss was only his second senior penalty take.
Back in February when speaking to West Ham TV, the England international revealed he could not remember the last time he scored from the spot adding when he was in the Academy he had three penalties to win three different tournaments and missed every single one of them.
Back to training ground Mr Rice and start practising, you never know you might need it for England this summer in the Euros.
Kudos for stepping up DR.
Let’s hope he spend some time with Nobes practicing, mind you we hardly ever get any given to us. 😆
Hang on a minute, now we’re top six surely the refs will be more favourable 😉

If only life were that easy son!
I’d say never give up on your dreams, wherever you are playing, give of your best, if you’re exceptional ask your coach if he’s in touch with any football scouts.
Good article, sir.
Totally ridiculous that we dont have a proper penalty taker … when the greatest taker of all – Mark Noble is not playing. Its inexcussable to waste penalties, which actually amount to goals … the difference between winning and losing.
Come on Moyes. Get this right, as well as your issue with Said B.
