Declan shows the way to Irons winger

Grady Diangana has made it clear there’s no way he will let his feet stay anywhere but on the ground over the rest of the season.

The winger has received enormous praise from the West Brom fans as he has become something of a cult hero at the Hawthorns since arriving at the start of the season.

Slaven Bilic had been chasing him for weeks but it wasn’t until the last few days of the summer that Manuel Pellegrini decided to let the youngster take his chance.

There’s still some speculation as to whether he could be recalled by the Hammers as cover for Manuel Lanzini but it now seems more likely to 20 year old will be allowed to see the season out.

It’s a loan spell which suits everybody with Grady completing a spell at the club which could see him end the season with a Championship winners medal.

Whether it’s that – or an alternative promotion to the Premier League – he will have learned loads nd come back to the London Stadium are far more compete player.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/november/15-november/grady-diangana-i-want-show-world-what-i-can-do he said: “I’ve always been someone who’s grounded, and I don’t let things get to my head. P

Playing with Declan and seeing where he’s got to and how he’s got there and the things he’s had to do to get there has helped me develop as a player. Hopefully I can be just as good as him.”

“I definitely want to make it at West Ham, long term. I saw an interview Pellegrini did and he said he’d like me to get 40 games under my belt with West Brom and he’s happy with the way I’ve been performing, so I’m happy here and I want to keep playing football.

For me personally, I realised there was a lot of competition in the West Ham team, a lot of big players. I’m at the stage of my career where I just want to play games and show the world what I can do. For me to improve as well, I need to be playing so I really wanted to just play football.”
