West Ham will not stand in the way of James Collins if he receives an offer during the summer.
The Hammers are considering their defensive resources which are now more plentiful than for many years and The Ginger Pele is always likely to attract offers.
Sam Allardyce is a big fan and such Championship outfits as Brentford and QPR are expected to be looking in his direction.
The Ginger Pele is happily settled in the area and would sooner stay around the capital as he goes into the last years of his playing career.
And with Angelo Ogbonna Winston Reid, Jose Fonte, Declan Rice, Reece Oxford and Reece Burke available , Collins is likely to get little match action next season.
And with that in mind Collins – despite his love of the club – may decide to enjoy one more contract should it be offered from elsewhere.
A club source said: “We wouldn’t want to stand in his way should he receive an acceptable offer but should it not happen we know he will always give his best for the club. He’s a great servant.”
