Defender unlikely to make Lyon match

Ben Johnson is highly unlikely to be involved in the match against Lyon on Thursday evening.

The defender felt a hamstring tighten during the international break with England under 21s and is now considered very doubtful for the game .

And we have been told this afternoon that it would probably be too much of a risk to use him in the Europa Cup match unless there is a rapid improvement.

And that means either Ryan Fredericks or Vladi Coufal are set to grab the right back spot with the Czech favourite after filling a spot on the bench against Everton

A London Stadium insider told us that Johnson appears to have little chance saying: Nothing’s impossible of course but at the moment it doesn’t look as though Ben will make it.”

Vladi was on the bench for the weekend game but is probably favourite top take over from Fredericks flor the first leg match.
