Delighted Dec welcomes decision

|

Declan Rice has given his immediate reaction to the news that Pablo Zabaleta will be staying at West Ham for a further year and it’s one likely to be repeated right across the dressing room.

Dec tends to keep his tweets short and to the point but he made  three words count big time simply declaring: “What a man.”

Rice was one of those named by Zaba as being a player whom he was delighted to have in the dressing room and the feeling is entirely mutual it seems.

Meanwhile former player Danny Mills has been discussing Rice’s future and decided to stir the pot again by claiming he won’t be around at the London Stadium for too long.

Talking to an outfit called Football Insider he said: “I don’t think it’s going to be at West Ham for very long. When I talked about young players moving too soon, he’s proven he can do it over the course of a season, maybe more than that.”

It’s a popular piece of predictable comment from most pundits when there’s not too much around to keep them occupied.

But Rice has made it clear on numerous occasions that he’s determined to follow a first team career and that he is best off at West Ham right now.

The club continue to insist there have been no enquiries or offers and have a minimum £70 million price tag on him so he’s unlikely to be going anywhere anytime soon.
