Derby County haven’t given up trying to land Michail Antonio, The Daily Mirror claim over the weekend that Derby Boss Paul Clement will go back for the winger in the January transfer in an attempt to lure the 25 year old away from the Boleyn Ground.
Derby had a £5m bid turned down by Nottingham Forest in the summer with the Forest board worried about a fan back lash if they sold to local Championship rivals.
Antonio has made just one substitute appearance against Manchester City at the Etihad since joining and it is his lack of chances and game time that Derby are relying on to unsettle the player come the January transfer window.
West Ham have previously said Antonio is one for the future as he plays a similar role Victor Moses who is on loan from Chelsea this season, Antonio chances this season may directly relate to the fitness of Moses.
Last month Michail took to twitter after being asked whether he was injured and why it wasn’t playing.
“No, I’m not injured the manager made a discussion. It hasn’t effected my confidence at all I’m going to wait for my opportunity and take it knew it wasn’t going to be easy to break in to the premier league especially at a club sitting In 3rd place.”
