According to a number of sources, West Ham United have been offered the opportunity to sign Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. The English winger is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and could be available for a transfer.

Sterling’s representatives are exploring options in the Premier League, and West Ham are among the clubs that have been presented with the possibility of signing him. While Juventus have also shown interest, Sterling reportedly prefers to remain in London.

The story would appear to be a strange one given the number of wingers and West Ham. Claret & Hugh will seek clarification from our top West ham source today regarding the transfer rumour.

The Hammers have already made significant investments in the playing squad this summer, but as good a player as Sterling is, the Hammers are well stocked with wingers.

With a high asking price for the player, and West Ham will need to search down the back of the sofa to afford Sterling having spent a fortune during the current transfer window.

Old news mate, looks like he’s on his way to Villa and they pay high wages, that’s how we got lumbered with Ings as he wouldn’t take a pay cut to come to us. Plus for Sterling they’re in the CL. We are not and still playing Moyesball. He won’t want that.

@deathblow. “We are not and still playing Moyesball.”

Well that’s being overly pessimistic isn’t it? We’ve only played one game in the league so far. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is a brand new team. Give it a break!

Been offered to lots of clubs if we believe the papers, so itโ€™s not a West Ham thing. Chelsea obviously want him gone. Only good thing about him is that he at least seems to want to play regular rather than just collecting his ridiculously high wages.

If they take Ings and Cornet off our hands and we could probably consider a loan I guess.

  • Bournehammer says:

So what’s the offer we can’t refuse?

More clickbait from this contributor, and we fell for it.
