Devastating Lanzini injury update

|
West Ham have been hit by the worst possible update on Manu Lanzini’s injury after contacting Argentine national team medics.
The club believed they were ready for the worst when hearing he had ruptured the cruciate in his right leg but were stunned when the full extent of the damage was revealed to them this afternoon.
For the early assessment from the nation’s World Cup squad medical team is that the midfielder will be out for at least a year because in fact there is damage beyond the cruciate to other ligaments.
And a 12 month absence from action is seen as the minimum and there are fears that such is the damage he may never be the same player again.
It means that beyond the agonies being suffered by the player, the club will need to reassess its transfer budget in a bid to cope with the player’s long term absence.
