Devastating message from Lingard emerges

|

Jesse Lingard posted a message on social media where he appears to be saying goodbye to West Ham today, Declan Rice added fuel to the fire saying he will be massively missed.

The loanee posted on Instagram “What a way to end the season. Reaching our goal with this incredible group of lads feels amazing! We pushed hard and never gave up! I feel so lucky to have been able to come into such a welcoming environment, everyone connected with the club has shown me just how special this club is. So thank you to the gaffer who had the belief in bringing me here. Thank you to all the staff that made it so easy for me to settle and embed into the club so quickly. Thank you to the coaches who helped me find my true self back on the pitch. Thank you to the fans who supported me from the second I arrived, It was amazing being able to play in front of you on the last day! And thank you to a special group of lads, as well as making some new lifelong friends training and playing with you all has been one of the highlights of my career! Whatever the future holds West Ham United will hold a special place in my heart! ⚒️❤️ #JLingz #COYI”

Declan Rice commented on the social post adding in the last hour “This is emotional brother! Absolute pleasure to share the pitch and changing room with you again! Your going to be missed massively mate❤️❤️❤️”

This is old news and it’s also intended by the players, to stir up the fans. Lingard was on loan, so of course his time has come to an end. It’s yet to be negotiated. West Ham have the ability to sign him or someone else or at least the same standard. If we want him, we can have him.

  • Jerry says:

Shame someone stole his 50k watch from the dressing room during the Everton game otherwise he might have thought about staying.

  • Spotty Dog says:

Every graveyard has people who were considered indispensable. Thanks, but if you don’t want to fight to stay, thanks for a few goals and silly dances. We move onwards and upwards – hope you enjoy sitting on the bench in Manchester. Nice memories.

Cant see what all the fuss is about. Seems a genuine message from the heart for a fantastic period of his life. It doesn’t say he is going to make the move to West Ham permanent and it doesn’t say that it want. What ever will be, will; be. He obviously appreciated the warmth and expertise from the players, backroom staff and the fans. A really nice gesture from a true professional. Good luck Jesse.

Good Luck to Jessie Lingard going back to Man Utd to sit on the bench
I dont believe what Solskjaer says he will deffinatly not play him in afirst choise
He was more relaxed and loved by the fans at West Ham and adapted to the style of our play
He and Declan got on so well together and the atmosphere in the team was great
Thank you Jessie for what you did for the club and lets hope we may one day get a chance to buy you
from all fellow Hammers A BIG THANKS

Would have loved to see him stay but it’s good he has let us know early, gives us clarity when signing players, that we need a playmaker, Arsenal’s Willock woul£ be a good option in the same slot.

  • Taffyhammer says:

His loan is finished. Back to Man U now. Very nice message and he’s away. Doesn’t mean that he will not be back. That might be August so better to say thanks now rather than wait until it doesn’t matter. Jesse will return – Real Madrid permitting!

  • Andrew says:

Could be smoke and mirrors, but we have benny to fill that role, now it makes sense why we have been linked with so many midfielders

  • Geefunkhammer says:

Never thought he’d stay anyway tbh, but let’s see. Not the end of the world either way.

  • mark wiggins says:

So what’s he going to do go back to Man Utd & sit on the bench , he won’t want that ! As good as he is I don’t see a top 4 side bidding for him . Shame if he doesn’t return but we can still hope ⚒

  • Paul Lewis says:

What else can he say at the moment, he is a Man United player and has now gone back to them, as they will now be paying his salary.
This doesn’t mean that sometime in the near future that we cant sign him.

  • Julian Woodhouse says:

I think the end of the message where he says”whatever the future holds” says to me all up in the air so dont see it as anything other than going back to parent club with his future still to be sorted.

  • Alasdair Campbell says:

    Never say never though.

  • Alasdair Campbell says:

    Sounds ominous

  • John Dolan says:

We were never going to get Lingard. He will go back to Utd no matter how much money we offer. It’s just the cold hard reality of where we are as a club. Sad but true

  • GaryD says:

    This is most unfortunate.
